Ann Zeuner - Top Italian Scientist in Biomedical Sciences
Dr. Ann Zeuner is an expert in personalized preclinical models and novel therapeutic strategies for cancer. She has published 71 research papers in international scientific journals and patented 3 new anticancer therapies. Dr. Zeuner has been principal investigator/team leader in 21 research projects financed by European Community, Italian Association for Cancer Research and Italian Ministry of Health. In 2016 she was appointed by the Italian Ministry of Health as Coordinator of an international network of clinical and research centers working on COLOrectal cancer in the MEDiterranean area (COLOMED). She is currently Research Director and Head of the Unit "Preclinical Models and Clinical Trials in Hematology and Oncology” at the Department of Oncology and Molecular Medicine at the Italian National Institute of healt (Istituto Superiore di Sanità). Her research interests are focused on lung, breast and colorectal cancer and specifically on Precision Medicine (organoid technology, liquid biopsy, personalized anticancer therapies), molecular oncology, cancer immunology, identification of new therapeutic targets and mechanisms of therapy resistance, preclinical evaluation of novel antitumor agents and cancer stem cells.
