Giovanni Di Guardo - Top Italian Scientist in Biomedical Sciences
Prof. Giovanni Di Guardo, DVM, Dipl. ECVP, retired, graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1982, cum laude, at the University of Bologna, Italy. In 1995, he was appointed a “Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists” (Dipl. ECVP). Since 2002, he has been an Associate Professor, teaching “General Pathology and Veterinary Pathophysiology”, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Teramo, Italy. His main research interests include comparative neuropathology, with special emphasis on prion diseases (especially sheep and goat Scrapie), as well as aquatic mammals' pathology. Prof. Di Guardo has authored/coauthored over 500 scientific papers, 190 of which published in international, peer-reviewed Journals, including top-ranking ones (New England Journal of Medicine, BMJ, Alzheimer's & Dementia, Autophagy, Frontiers in Immunology).
