Luigi Tavazzi took his degree and training at University of Pavia School of Medicine in Italy and currently work as Scientific Consultant for Maria Cecilia Hospital- GVM Care&Research, in Cotignola, Italy. He served as President of the Italian Federation of Cardiology and he was chairman of the ESC-European Observational Research Programme of the ESC. His fields of interest in research concern the pathophysiology and clinical course of the ischaemic heart disease and heart failure. He participated in several large international clinical trials and observational studies. He authored more than 800 peer-reviewed papers and 24 books on cardiovascular pathophysiology and clinical investigations.
