Nica Borgese - Top Italian Scientist in Biomedical Sciences
My research interests have concerned organelle biogenesis and membane traffic, membrane proteins, protein targeting, the Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER), and, more recently, dysregulation of the ER in neurodegenerative diseases. I have taught Cell Biology to Pharmacy, Medical, and Biotechnology students at the University of Catanzaro "Magna Graecia", at the University of Milan, and, more recently at Humanitas University of Milan. My research has been funded by the Italian National Research Council (CNR), the Italian Ministry for Research and University (MIUR), the Italian Association for Research con Cancer (A.I.R.C.), Telethon, CARIPLO Foundation, and the European Commission. I am an elected member of EMBO since 2011.
